NAC Scale-Prevention Media Refill — for CHF Resin Housings

Switch your CHF system from traditional resin softening to salt-free scale prevention. This is the FILTERSORB® SP3 media on its own, supplied loose to refill the same CHF housing your resin currently sits in — ships Australia-wide.
If you're tired of resin that exhausts every year, this is the long-life alternative. Empty the spent resin, rinse the housing, and pour in the NAC media — no new housing, no plumbing changes.
What you get (PW-M-NAC-875): FILTERSORB SP3 salt-free NAC media, enough to charge one CHF housing.
How NAC works: NAC stands for Nucleation Assisted Crystallization. Instead of softening your water by stripping out minerals, it conditions it — converting dissolved calcium into harmless aragonite microcrystals that flow straight through your pipes, elements and glassware without bonding to anything. The minerals stay in your water; only their ability to form scale is removed. No salt, no wastewater, no electricity.
Why switch from resin to NAC:
- No salt and no sodium added to your water
- No wastewater, no backwashing, no electricity
- Doesn't exhaust the way resin does — typical media life of 5–7 years, not yearly
- TDS and pH left unchanged
- Set-and-forget scale protection with minerals retained
The honest trade-off: resin softening gives you that soft-water feel on skin and hair because it removes the minerals. NAC deliberately leaves them in, so you won't get that "slippery" softened-water feel — but you get long-term scale protection for your pipes, hot water system and appliances with virtually no upkeep. If the soft-water feel matters most to you, stick with resin; if it's scale protection you're after, NAC is the better long-term choice.
Suited to the hardest water: FILTERSORB SP3 is proven effective for water hardness up to around 1,280 mg/L — many times higher than even the hardest Australian mains supply.
Certification: FILTERSORB SP3 is certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372 by the Water Quality Association (WQA) and IAPMO for safe use in potable water systems, with additional international drinking-water approvals including WRAS and BS 6920 (UK).
