ProperWater ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It is intended to be consistent with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

When you shop with us or contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and shipping/billing address
  • Your order details and purchase history
  • Payment information (processed securely by our payment providers — we do not store your full card details)
  • Any information you provide when you contact us, such as enquiry or return details

We collect this information directly from you when you place an order, create an account, or get in touch.

How we use your information

  • Send you transactional emails about your order (confirmation, dispatch, tracking)
  • Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support

Our online store is hosted on Shopify, and payments are processed by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments and PayPal). These providers store and process your information on our behalf to run the store and complete your purchase, under their own privacy and security standards.

Some of these providers may store or process data on servers located outside Australia. By placing an order, you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas by these providers for the purpose of fulfilling your order.

Our website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to keep your shopping cart working and to help the site function properly. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Payment data is handled by secure, encrypted payment providers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and rely on reputable providers to do the same.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only as long as needed to fulfil your orders, provide support, and meet our legal obligations (for example, tax and business records). After that, we securely remove or de-identify it.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we're not required to keep it
